Scholarships

KCCTO offers scholarships for:

  1. in-service training (clock hour or continuing education unit): 
    • online or in-person training
    • state and national conferences
    • CDA training
  2. higher education (credit hour): 
    • early childhood courses for degrees at 2-year and 4-year institutions
    • courses for early childhood certificates
    • courses for the state director’s credential
    • early childhood courses for continuing education or personal/professional growth
    • courses that meet CDA education requirements
  3. Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential application fee
    • the Council for Professional Recognition’s online CDA application fee – first time Candidates ($425)
    • the Council for Professional Recognition’s online CDA application fee – renewal Candidates ($125)

Who can apply?

You can apply for a KCCTO scholarship if you:

  • currently work in a licensed Kansas child care program

What are the criteria for eligible training or courses?

In-Service Training
– Online Training
– In-Person Training
– CDA Training Program
– Statewide Conference
– KDHE approved, OR
– CEU approved
– Pay online or in-person registration costs of courses up to $200
– Pay CEU fees
– Pay registration costs for up to 120 clock hours of training (maximum of $400) for CDA training programs
– Pay state conference attendance costs of up to $200 (including registration, travel, and lodging)
In-Service Training
– National Conference
– CEU approved– Pay attendance costs of up to $1800 per person/calendar year (including registration, travel, and lodging)
– Pay attendance costs of up to $3600 per program/calendar year (including registration, travel, and lodging)
Higher Education
– Continuing Education
– Kansas Director’s Credential
– CDA Preparatory Courses
– Early Childhood Certificate
– Associates Degree (A.A., A.S.,
A.A.S.)
– Bachelors Degree (B.A, B.S.)
– From an accredited institute of
higher education in Kansas
– An early childhood education
course OR Kansas Director’s Credential course
– No more than 6 credit hours per
semester
– Pay 100% of the cost of tuition of up to 6 credit hours per semester, pending verification of use of any other available financial aid
