Supporting Anxious Children

Description

Childhood anxiety is the most common pediatric mental health disorder, and is especially common in young children. In addition to diagnosed anxiety conditions in children, anxiety is a normative emotion in young children, and all daycare providers will have opportunities to respond to children with anxiety in their care. This training will give an overview of young child anxiety, common fears and diagnoses, and describe when a child/family needs more support. This training will also provide strategies daycare providers can use when responding to childhood anxiety.
