Let’s Move, Learn and Have Fun
Description
Physical movement, along with healthy foods, promotes growth and development in the bodies and minds of young children. Through active play, children learn about their bodies, their physical abilities and how to control their bodies within a supportive, safe environment. Regular physical activity helps young bodies use nutrients that build strength as well as healthy bones and muscles. It helps develop motor, social/emotional and cognitive skills, including those skills related to feeding and eating. In this workshop, participants will have opportunities to practice appropriate movements for toddlers and plan for ways to include such movement in their child care programs.
