In this first of a two-part series, explore the causes and challenges children and families experience when facing homelessness. Learn how the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act defines homelessness for children and families.

This interactive course is video-based and is best experienced with the ability to use audio. Transcripts are provided. It is required that this course, part 1, be completed before completing Understanding Family Homelessness Part 2.

This course is appropriate for all early care and education professionals in center-based and family child care settings.
