Preventing Shaken Baby Syndrome
Description
If you have a foundational understanding of child abuse prevention, increase your knowledge on safeguarding infants from shaken baby syndrome (SBS). In this course, you will explore the signs, symptoms, and causes of SBS, as well as effective strategies for coping with crying, soothing infants, and prioritizing self-care. You’ll learn about the Period of PURPLE Crying, a common stage in infant development, and discover Kansas’s efforts in SBS prevention, including how to communicate this information to families.
