Joyful Language: Making the Most of Everyday Moments with Infants and Toddlers
Description
Young children depend on responsive relationships with caring adults to build a strong foundation for language and literacy. From birth, babies are listening, watching, responding, and interacting. When caregivers joyfully use everyday moments to talk, sing, read, and play with children, magic happens. In this course, we will identify language and communication milestones for infants and toddlers, define what is meant by, “making the most of everyday moments,” and discuss strategies to enrich children’s language development within everyday, personal and joyful interactions. This course is appropriate for people who work with infants and toddlers in center-based and family child care settings.
Take this course and earn 2 clock hours toward the Kansas Department of Health and Environment’s Child Care Center Infant Lead Teacher training requirements.
