KCCTO offers scholarships to help early childhood providers continue to grow their career and expertise.

*New Requirement Prior to Application*

  1. A completed Individual Professional Development Plan (IPDP) is required to be uploaded within the application in order to be considered for a scholarship.

Any Kansas provider currently working in a licensed child care facility is eligible to apply for the In-Service Training Progression of Professional Development Scholarship. This scholarship can be used for early childhood online or in-person training for personal or professional growth opportunities, annual licensure requirements, or CDA professional education requirements.

Type of Professional Development

In-Service training types:

Please note that in-service training scholarships are not applicable to KCCTO training. However, some exceptions may apply, which will be indicated in the course description. Please be aware that you will still be able to enroll in KCCTO courses at an affordable price while receiving the same high-quality training you have come to expect.

  • Online Training
  • In-Person Training

Training must be:

  • Statewide Approved (KDHE approved), OR
  • Offered by an agency with authority to offer CEUs and content approved for CEUs

Scholarship Applicant must:

  • Be currently employed at a licensed child care facility in Kansas (Note: Head Start staff are not eligible for this scholarship)
  • Complete training registration and provide verification to KCCTO
  • Provide verification of training completion to KCCTO

KCCTO will:

  • Pay online or in-person registration costs of courses up to a maximum per person $200 per year (July 1, 2025 – June 30, 2026)
  • Pay registration costs for up to 120 clock hours of training (maximum of $400) for CDA training programs

Applications must be submitted at least 4 weeks prior to the training event or registration closing if requesting a pay-in-advance scholarship. Applications will be reviewed in the order they are received. Please allow 10 business days for processing.

*Group Registrations: Facilities with 6 or more individuals applying for the same scholarship type must contact KCCTO for further instruction.

Kansas providers currently working in a licensed child care facility may be eligible to apply for the Higher Education Scholarship in a Kansas accredited school. Read the policies and procedures below for details.

Type of Professional Development


Courses must be:

  • From an accredited institute of higher education in Kansas
  • An early childhood education course
  • No more than 6 credit hours per semester

Applicant must:

  • Must have a completed Cape profile
  • Complete an IPDP and submit it with the application
  • Be currently employed at a licensed child care facility in Kansas OR employed in a qualifying licensed exempt facility, e.g., USD
  • Use any other available financial aid (including the KS Promise Scholarship) prior to applying for this scholarship
  • Complete FASFA
  • Complete course enrollment
  • Complete course with a “C” grade or higher
  • Provide verification of course completion to KCCTO

KCCTO will:

  • Pay 100% of the cost of tuition and fees of up to 6 credit hours per semester, pending verification of use of any other available financial aid.

This scholarship can be used for early childhood online or face-to-face statewide conferences for personal or professional growth opportunities, annual licensure requirements, or CDA professional education requirements.

Note: We are currently accepting applications only for conferences taking place between January 1, 2026, to June 30, 2026. Applications for conferences held between July 1, 2025, and December 31, 2025 are not being accepted at this time.

6Statewide Conference:

Training must be:

  • Statewide Approved (KDHE approved), OR
  • Offered by an agency with Authority to offer CEUs and content approved for CEUs


Applicant Must:

  • Currently be employed at a licensed child care facility in Kansas (Note: Head Start staff are not eligible for this scholarship)
  • Complete training registration and provide verification to KCCTO
  • Provide verification of training completion to KCCTO
  • Verify that the conference meets the KDHE or CEU requirement


KCCTO Will:

  • Pay State conference attendance costs of up to maximum per person $600 (including registration, membership if applicable, CEU fees, travel, and lodging) per year (July 1, 2025 – June 30, 2026)
  • Maximum per facility $3,000 per year (July 1, 2025 – June 30, 2026)

  • SCHOLARSHIP DOES NOT COVER FOOD EXPENSES.

Applications must be submitted at least 4 weeks prior to the training event or registration closing if requesting a pay-in-advance* scholarship. Applications will be reviewed in the order they are received. Please allow 10 business days for processing.

*Note: Pay-in-Advance scholarships only apply to registration fees when arrangements can be made. Travel and lodging expenses may be submitted for reimbursement after attending the conference. DOES NOT COVER FOOD EXPENSES.
