As of January 13, 2025, early childhood educators can start using Cape, a statewide registry that serves as an innovative platform to shop for and access professional development needs. Cape is more than just a career portal—it’s a dynamic, all-in-one resource designed to empower individuals, facilities, and training organizations in the early childhood field. With its seamless integration of training resources, planning tools, and professional recognition, Cape makes navigating your career and advancing the profession easier and more impactful than ever.

Cape makes it easier for Kansas early childhood professionals to:

Kansas Child Care Training Opportunities (KCCTO) partners with Cape, Kansas’s statewide professional development and workforce registry, to make training and career growth easier for early childhood professionals.

KCCTO’s Role with Cape

KCCTO is the grant-funded organization that implements and manages Cape. This means KCCTO:

  • Oversees the ongoing maintenance of the Cape system
  • Supports users through help desk and technical assistance
  • Ensures the system aligns with statewide goals
  • Collaborates with state agencies and partners to maintain accurate and consistent data
  • Oversees development of new features and enhancements based on statewide needs

In short, KCCTO not only offers training opportunities in Cape, but is also manages the team that supports and maintains Cape.

Governance and Oversight

Cape is guided by a Governance Board that oversees the design, policy direction, and future development of the portal. This board helps ensure Cape remains responsive to the needs of early childhood professionals and aligned with statewide workforce goals.
