Training Approval
This page provides an overview of the Training Organization Registration, and Training Approval processes. Here, you’ll find information on how to register a Training Organization, whether as a single or multi-trainer entity, and details the training application submission and review process. Essential guidelines and timelines are included to help you navigate each step efficiently. To submit a training for approval, you will need to complete this multi-step process.

Request Kansas Statewide Training Approval
How to submit a training for Kansas Statewide Training Approval:
Timeframe: 45 days (includes holidays and weekends)
Not a Cape-approved developer? Please complete the Training Approval Orientation before submitting, if needed.
- Submit training for Kansas Statewide Training Approval
- Complete the Training Application. Guidance on completing the application and a copy of the scoring rubric are found in the resources below. (download resources below)
- Have the following documents and information ready to submit for Statewide Training Approval using the new Application for Approval form.
- KS Core Competency Alignment Table
- Alignment of KS Core Competency(ies) to the training learning objectives and activities and/or instructional methods and the time for each activity or instructional method. This table is part of the application form, and is found in the outline and alignment section example and Outline and Alignment Section document
- Activities and instruction methods include a brief summary of the content, activity, or discussion questions.

- Supporting Materials
- Submit all supporting materials that will be used during the training such as handouts, note taking guides, etc.
- PowerPoints or other trainer facilitation materials are not submitted with the application.
- KS Core Competency Alignment Table
- Review of One-Time and Ongoing Training
- Two qualified reviewers will complete training reviews.
- One-time Training Applications will be reviewed for competency and standard alignment
- Ongoing Training Applications will be reviewed and scored utilizing a training rubric
- Approval requires a total score of an average of 59 points plus a Content Category score of at least 29 points in each of the two reviews. Rubric is found in the resources below.
- If application is not approved:
- Use feedback to make revisions
- Submit a new training application
- Expect a turnaround of 2-3 weeks
- If application is approved:
- Receive notification of approval documentation
- The training can be advertised as state-approved training
