Sensory Processing in a Childcare Environment
Description
Childcare providers will care for children with many differences in sensory processing. For example, some children in their classroom might seek out sensory experiences while others might actively avoid it. This information will allow childcare providers to understand the differences individuals have in sensory processing, to recognize signs that an individual might need a modification to their environment to support their sensory processing, and to create a classroom environment where all individuals are supported, able to meet their sensory needs, and the classroom routine and structure is still met.
