Foundations of Play with Infants and Toddlers

Description

This introductory course introduces participants to the elements of play that can be seen in children’s actions from birth and are often considered the “work” of early learners. Through exploration and wonder, play happens within everyday experiences. Foundations of Play with Infants and Toddlers will discuss various types and elements of play that support learning and introduce the importance in recognizing children’s interests to foster growth and development. In addition, participants will explore how play supports self-regulation, self-concept recognition, and delve into the play environment and materials.

This course is appropriate for professionals who care for infants and toddlers in both family child care and center-based programs.
