Learn to recognize types of child abuse and neglect, and your procedures as a mandated reporter. In this session you will become familiar with the local resources that you can refer families to. Discussion will familiarize you with the signs of abusive head trauma, including those caused by both shaking and blunt impact. You will also learn what measures you will need to take to prevent head injury to young children. You will leave with better tools to manage stress and prevent frustration when working with young children. Health & Safety Description The Health & Safety aspect of this course is to let participants know what the signs and behaviors are that correlate to children being abused and the steps they would take to report those situations.
