Developing Resilience Behaviors in Adults and Children

Research has shown that the ability to idenify one’s thoughts about an activating event leads to greater understanding and modification of the emotions and reactions related to those thoughts. All adults working with children have the capacity to act as a role model when handling challenging situations throughout the day. When adults model this resilience behavior, children are given the resources and tools needed to develop and utilize the behavior for themselves.
