The physical environment plays a powerful role in shaping how children and families experience a child care setting. In this training, participants will explore three ways their environment can foster a sense of welcome and value for children and their families. They will also examine how elements such as layout, furniture arrangement, and color scheme influence children’s behavior and interactions. Through reflection and discussion, participants will learn how intentional environmental choices can support a positive atmosphere. This course is appropriate for all early care and education professionals in center-based child care, family child care, and afterschool program settings.
