Course Description

Young children are spending an increased number of hours in child care settings and often need medication during that time for multiple reasons.  Medication can be crucial to the health and wellness of young children but they can also be very dangerous if given incorrectly; wrong dose, wrong child, wrong time.  This introductory course will discuss the steps of medication administration including labeling, storage, disposal, medical records and administration policy and necessary documentation to keep children safe and healthy.

This course meets KDHE medication administration training requirement found in K.A.R. 28-4-428a. (d).  Meets 2 of the 4 hours of the Annual Health and Safety Topic Requirement.
