Course Description

As an introductory course, this course will focus on how to serve food safely in early education and child care programs.  It will provide a foundation in safe food handling and serving, the understanding of a food allergy, the daily management of a food allergy, and how to prepare for a food allergy emergency.  This course is adapted, with permission, from Fight BAC! Food Safety Education partnership’s Core Four Practices; KDHE regulations; and Caring for Our Children 3rd Ed. Best practice recommendations.

This course meets KDHE health and safety training requirements for prevention of and response to emergencies due to food and allergic reactions, found in K.A.R. 28-4-428a. (b)(2)(E).
