Celebrate Artsy Thursday with a quality, low-cost training for child care providers and early childhood educators!

Thursday, April 19 5:30-7:30pm

This course was designed and will be presented by Kathrine Schlagek, Associate Curator of Education with the Marianna Kistler Beach Museum of Art. It is designed to introduce early childhood providers to four methods of looking at and talking about art (Museum Movement Technique, Mindful Observation, Visual Thinking Strategies, and See, Think, and Wonder) that will help children develop skills identified in the Kansas Early Learning Standards, with a focus on cognitive, communication, and social skills.  Additional benefits include the development of literacy, math, and science skills.  Participants will receive a printed guide to the course and art reproductions to take back to their classroom.

Training is located at the Marianna Kistler Beach Museum of Art, Manhattan, KS

This training is offered through a partnership between Marianna Kistler Beach Museum of Art, Kansas Association for the Education of Young Children and Kansas Child Care Training Opportunities.
